This image was inspired by all of the women in my life and the novel ‘The Red Tent’
A story which reveals the traditions of ancient womanhood and the world within the Red Tent.
The Red Tent was a place in which all women would go on their moon cycle to be women,
to communicate, be themselves, shed their masks and connect as a community in a time when women were told to be silent.
For centuries and still today women love coming together to talk and share their stories.
I know from personal experience, the strength, empowerment, self reassurance and knowledge
that women gain from being with one another is extremely powerful and fulfilling.
